Skurko
Andrei Skurko was born on March 12, 1978, in the village of Kryvichi, Myadzel district, Minsk region. He has worked at Nasha Niva since 1998, was its editor-in-chief from 2006-2017, and later became head of the advertising and marketing department. He is the author of Nasha Historyja and a writer for a children's magazine. In 2017, Andrei was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
Andrei Skurko was detained on July 8, 2021, when a large-scale crackdown on the media and NGOs began in Belarus. Andrei was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison. Andrei has won the Frantsishak Aliakhnovich Award for the fairy tales and poems he wrote for his son while in custody.
